Performed in the midst of The Eleventh House breakup, and reuniting some old friends, Coryell churns out a jam like performance.
Larry Coryell - guitar
Alphonse Mouzon - drums
Miroslav Vitous - bass
Steve Marcus - sax
In 1977, Larry Coryell was truly in a transitional year. The much heralded Eleventh House fusion group he founded had just broken up, and the reasons given were by Larry himself, he was done playing loud music. Maybe a partial truth, as Back Together Again was recorded this same year with a new variation of the Eleventh House group, minus a horn, and an added guitar, credited to Coryell/Mouzon. Acoustic records were also being released by Coryell throughout this time, mostly duet records with Philip Catherine and Steve Khan, and even more acoustic records were yet to come. Still, in the midst of all of this, Coryell took to the road with Alphonse Mouzon and bassist Miroslav Vitous for a series of fusion shows, this one from the famous Agora Club in Cleveland, Ohio, which also features a rare rendition of "My Favorite Things", ironically a jazz standard Coryell never recorded or played extensively.
