Performing on the same bill as Soft Machine, The Eleventh House featuring Larry Coryell had been together for about 5 months, and were making a push on the fusion scene.
Their debut album The Eleventh House featuring Larry Coryell had not yet been released, however the band were already putting in a healthy string of dates going back to the Fall of 1973.
The band put on a fiery performance, albeit incomplete, but the approach is very much high octane.
Coryell's desire to create an ensemble of dedicated musicians and composers, rather than solely focus on himself.
When asked about his intentions with the Eleventh House in one of his last interviews, he simply answered "funk", and those explorations are on full display here.
